Activities
I plan all activities a week in advance we cover different themes depending on the month. I work with the birth to three matters framework. so that we can achieve maximum development for the age of the child
Some of the activities we do are sticking, modelling, painting, baking. we have story time and we listen to music and sing and dance as well as a wide variety of puzzles and games.
I have a garden for the children to play in and they are supervised the whole time they are out there in the garden i have a small sand and water pit. i have a paddling pool, which i also use as a ball pit when it is colder and we have a small play tent.
I live close to the local park which is suitable for both the young and the older children.
The children have access to a wide range of toys that stimulate their minds and imagination and to encourage independance.
Children are encouraged to select their own toys and games for themselves and encouraged to put them away when they are finished.
We have recently bought 2 guinea pigs, which the children helped choose names for, I am teaching them how to care for and respect animals. The children love them and they are always told that they must wash their hands before and after petting the guinea pigs.
